Brood Mares

Dawn Frolics

Dawn Frolics by Silver Patriarch by Mighty Frolic. Mighty Frolic was a good stayer who ran in and won races up to 3m 4f, she achieved a rating of 111. She has bred 3 foals; one won the Burleigh young event horse final, the other two went into racing. Vicky Bee has been very unlucky not to win a race yet having been placed 5 times, the other foal is Dawn Frolics. We decided to retire Dawn to stud when minor lameness kept interrupting her training. She is a big, well put together horse and we are sure she will produce good looking foals who would be suited to racing or eventing.

Flemingstone

Flemingstone is by Flemishfirst a high class 10-12f horse and is out of Philly Athletic who only ran 5 times under rules, winning 2 and being placed second twice. Flemingstone unfortunately sustained an injury racing so had to be retired. Although she never won a race we feel her gutsy, never loose attitude has warranted her place as a brood mare. If her offspring acquire this attitude we are half way there to having a good race horse.

Princess Stephanie

Princess Stephanie is by Shaab she is out of Waterloo Princess who was unraced. Princess Stephanie was a recent winner over hurdles for us. As her owners had always wanted to breed from her now seemed a good time to send her to stud. She may resume her racing career once she has had her foal.

Zahunda

Zahunda is by Spectrum and is out of Gift of Glory who was unraced but bred 4 winners from 6 runners. Zahunda is a winner on the flat and has been placed over hurdles. Having had 54 runs her form started to go down hill and it was decided that now was a good time to retire her from racing.

Zahunda foaled a filly on 7th April who unfortunately contracted meningitis and died.

All four of the mares have been put to the same stallion Cotation who stands at the Belchford Stud. He is an unraced hald brother to Rainbow Courer a group winner on the flat. Although unraced he has sired winners on the flat and over fences. He is also the sire of some good eventers, including the 2003 Burleigh young event horse. cotation
