Gentlemen Don't Work On Mondays

gentlemen

How did this syndicate get its name?

Nick and Darren had both been in Ireland one weekend enjoying rather too much of the 'black stuff'. Waking up late on Monday morning they realised they has missed their plane and were unable to get to work They sought the counsel of a young Irish barman and his words of advice were: 'Don't worry boys, gentlemen don't work on Mondays. Get another round in!'.

The gentlemen had been toying with the idea of buying a horse for some time and Matt had the ideal one for them. Lynton Lad was bought and ran, somewhat unsuccessfully, for a few months. Unfortunately, Lynton injured a suspensory ligament at Wolverhampton, and was unable to race for a while. During this break it emerged that Lynton had in fact been running with sore feet for some time.

The gentlemen took a break from racing and the partnership reformed with Nick Haley, his brother John and Candy and David their parents. The purchase of a new horse was left to Matt resulting in Michaels Princess, a seven year old mare from the Doncaster sales. She has performed admirably, winning at Plumpton and coming second by the narrowest of margins.

flower haven

Flower Haven is a half sister to Jelly Baby a multiple winner on the flat. Flower Haven raced on the flat before she came to us. We ran her in juvenile hurdle races last season and she was placed 4 times. She was turned away for the winter and filled out a great deal. She has taken a bit of time to get right this season probably because she gained so much size over the winter. She is in really good form with herself at the moment, working very well and we are sure she will put up a good performance.

Kingdom of Heaven is the youngest member of this team. She has just started to be broken and has taken bridle and tack in her stride. She also seem a litttle camera shy.
