Tom Alexander
Dr Tom Alexander qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1945. Being reasonably experienced with horses, he was invited to become an assistant in the racehorse practice at Lambourn. A year later he moved to a mixed practice in Cornwall, where the senior partner insisted he played for the local rugby club every Saturday.

A year later he was off again, this time to the Ontatio Veterinary College. Two world renound vets: Blood and Henderson, persuaded Tom to take an MVSc in pig medicine. This led to a PhD in virology at the Cambridge Veterinary School, where he stayed until 1999. |
